  • Overview

    Role:

    The Vendor Credentialing Representative is responsible for credentialing patient access, hospital team, professional relations, and other staffs that enter various hospitals and assisted living facilities that operate in the organization’s territory. The representative also reviews the credentialing requirements of clinical staff that are assigned to patients within facilities that have credentialing requirements and credential employees for each required vendor per the individual credentialing vendor requirements.

     

    Qualifications:

    • High School diploma, or GED required; Associate's degree preferred in human resources, business administration, or related field.
    • Two (2) years’ experience in human resources or minimum of one (1) year experience in a position requiring credential duties
    • Excellent typing, organizational, time management skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
    • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Well-developed communication (verbal and written)
    • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, external vendors, and hospitals
    • Ability to lead by example, adhering to the highest standards of professional work ethics and confidentiality
    • Demonstrate problem solving and decision making capabilities to meet the needs of staff and clinical managers in a timely manner on a daily basis.Competencies:

    • Credentialing

     

    • Coordinate with Recruitment and Human Resources for hiring and termination of employees who require hospital and/or assisted living facility (ALF) credentialing.
    • Develop, implement and maintain procedure to credentialing prospective new employees and re-credentialing current employees.
    • Track, monitor, and process reporting of numerous personnel compliance data and information to ensure initial and ongoing credentialing.
    • Ensure all required staff credentials are current, compliant, and filed in the appropriate electronic credentialing employee folder.
    • Maintain ongoing annual credentialing requirements for credentialed employees.
    • Correspond with managers, employees, and various departments to obtain information or to inform them of credentialing status or changes.
    • Maintain current and accurate credentialing data via Excel spreadsheet or other tracking mechanisms and active credentialing employee folders.
    • Maintain electronic copies of current licenses, liability documents, and other required credentialing documents for clinical staff.
    • Effectively communicate with staff, credentialing vendors, and hospital facilities to coordinate and resolve issues.
    • Provide credentialing status report to management as requested.
    • Coordinate with Employee Health, Education, and Workers Compensation to ensure all requirements are met for newly credentialed employees.
    • Process credentialing applications for each credentialing vendor including all applicable documentation and payment.
    • Prepare credentialing records for auditing by HR management.
    • Maintain close communication with clinical staff to ensure that records are up-to-date and consistent.Other

     

    • Coordinate and complete special projects as assigned by the HR management.
    • Assist with HR transactions to include, but not limited to, onboarding, job changes, audits, etc.
    • Assist with monthly employee file audits.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
