  • Overview


    The Clinical Integration Technology Specialist (CITS) serves as a technical resource for initial and specialty systems orientation, ongoing education, and support for clinical and non-clinical staff and partners with the Training and Development team to investigate, assess, develop and integrate clinical informatics, training, and workflows to maximize staff efficiency and ensure clinical competency for all patient care staff. The CITS interacts with all levels of management and staff and supports key Corporate and affiliate initiatives to successfully meet the needs of the Organization. This role functions as part of the Clinical Integration team.



    • Associate’s degree in computer science, or, at least, 3 years’ experience in lieu of degree
    • Clinical informatics or clinical based computer system experience
    • Previous clinical background within healthcare required; hospice setting preferred
    • Strong experience with information systems, clinical software and other computer applications
    • Advanced electronic media experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to multiple levels; effective presentation skills
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercising discretion and independent judgment
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and exercise sound judgment in crisis situations
    • Mobile Driver - Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance per Company policy
    • Ability to travel to off-site locationsCompetencies:

    • Training
    • Identifies training needs of the clinical documentation system end users related to implementation, upgrades, changes to the Clinical Information System and documentation improvement.
    • Identifies the need for specialty training related to organizational systems.
    • Coordinates the development and preparation of all course training materials in collaboration with the Training and Development team including, but not limited to, planning and development of mandatory education, patient education, medical staff education, specialty EMR training, and other activities as directed.Clinical Systems
    • Assists with future testing for clinical system upgrades.
    • Completes workflow diagrams for computers systems and/or clinical systems as directed.
    • Interacts with staff in systems and operations to formulate and implement solutions to improve work flow and clinical processes.
    • Promotes system security and patient confidentiality.
    • Coordinates the development and preparation of various reports and statistics as requested.
    • Provides support related to the clinical intelligence system.
    • Participates in on-call support as assigned.
    • Serves on workgroups as assigned.
    • Completes special projects as assigned.Other
